In the early years, Roland’s background as an Automotive
Engineer created openings into the oil exploration industry.
There he worked as a Motorman on the oil rigs drilling many of the first commercial oil discoveries in the region. He moved on to become a welder during the “Think Big†era and the construction of the Motunui synthetic fuel plant before heading overseas and working in continental Europe for 6 years. It was there, while working for a one of the worlds largest multi-national computer companies & traveling to over 25 countries that he gained a lifetime of new skills & experience. Upon his return to New Plymouth in 1991, Roland entered the real estate industry with Harcourts and applied many of the new ideas and techniques he learnt abroad. Roland achieved top 5% salesperson nationally in his first 3 months in a very difficult market & he has never looked back.
Today, with well over $100,000,000 in residential sales behind him, Roland is fully qualified to AREINZ status, and married to Linda, a travel consultant. Together they have 2 young daughters. Late 2007 Roland sold his share in the ownership of Harcourts in order to concentrate solely on selling real estate.
With his particular expertise in Auction, he specialises in marketing systems and is now a very successful Auctioneer. He is constantly working on developing new & innovative selling strategies that result in shorter selling times and the best possible real estate experience for his clients.
Roland has a “hands on†practical approach to selling real estate and over the years he has proven himself to be the professional of choice to those seeking a no-nonsense answer to their real estate needs.
