Approximately 1000 mm per annum at the homestead.

Fertiliser History
600 tonnes of lime applied by air, 300 tonnes in each of 2003 and 2004 with a total of 750 kg white clover seed. No nitrogen has even been applied.
Contour and Altitude
A long ridge system dominates Springvale, the larger area of the property lying to the north, with an excellent balance of easterly and southerly country.
The property runs from 30m to 815m (100’ to 2675’) AMSL and comprises a mix of some easy rolling contour at the bottom of the property and along the ridges, with the balance being medium to steep hill.
Cover
Predominantly native grasses with some English grasses on the workable easy rolling country.
Water Supply
The property is supplied by reliable numerous natural springs and creeks on all blocks.

The Springvale stock has long been acclaimed for its performance, this being attested to by its demand at the Little River Ewe Fair, where our vendors this year presented their annual offering of 2-tooth ewes for the 50th consecutive year.
The 5 year ewes are sought by an equally keen gallery every year.
Our vendors’ strong attention to physical conformation in conjunction with recorded data has resulted in one of the South Island’s elite flocks.
The cattle herd likewise reflects our vendors’ dedication to the finer points of breeding and finishing.
