STONECROFT WINES

Stonecroft is a genuine family boutique winery located at Roys Hill, Hastings in two separate titles.

The property comprises two vineyards - four hectares located on Mere Road which hosts the cellar door, winery and dwelling and Roys Hill, a separate approximate five hectare (STS) vineyard on Highway 50 approximately 3 kilometres south of Mere Road. Grapes are sourced from both vineyards for the highly renowned Stonecroft label. Varieties comprise Chardonnary, Gewurztraminer and Syrah from the Mere Road home block and Syrah, Gewurztraminer, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Both separate vineyards have their own independent wells for irrigation. The soil type is specified as Omahu 1A, 10-15cm sand on stoney gravels; the area being part of the registered Gimblett Gravels Appellation.

Improvements include a four bedroom home, cellar door, winery and barrel room.

Stonecroft has an undisputed record of producing top award winning wines under the watchful eye of the legendary Alan Limmer. It released its first vintage in 1987 and in 1989 introduced the first New Zealand commercial release of the new Syrah variety. Successful developments throughout Hawkes Bay can be directly attributed to Alan and Stonecroft. The family have decided that after 25 years of producing fine wines they now wish to retire and are offering Stonecroft for sale 'lock, stock and barrel' as a going concern.
