While enjoying a sales and marketing corporate career, Morgan Powell found himself living in the Eastern Bays, Auckland, between Harcourts’ CEO and L J Hooker’s top performing real estate consultant. So it was inevitable he would eventually be seduced by a career in real estate.

Morgan came to New Zealand with solid credentials and he’s packed a lot into his 37 years, not least of which was being a member of the Cardiff and Wales Rugby Union Squads, one of several highlights of his life so far.

With a Masters, Postgraduate Degree, in Marketing and Communications, an Honours Degree in Business Management from the prestigious Cardiff Business School in the UK and another Degree in Recreation and Leisure Management, Morgan worked hard in his early years both in academics and sport that has led him to a successful career.

When Morgan arrived in New Zealand he was establishing the Sales and Marketing Division for a global recruitment company in Auckland. He has worked as a Corporate Sales Trainer, as a Sales Manager and Client Relations Manager for Cable News Network (CNN) both in New York and London and he has also been Sales Manager for British Sky Broadcasting (BSkyB).

He’s also worked in New Zealand for Brand Advantage developing corporate sponsorship deals for the likes of The Silver Ferns and The All Blacks.

He attributes much of his past successes to a very disciplined upbringing, his schooling and his sports and as important, to his well-honed communication skills. “Any sales role is about communication and maintaining a positive mental attitude. In sales you must have energy, you must maintain integrity, be ethical and overall, professionalism is key. You must be genuine.”

Morgan is constantly inspired by top business people and top performing athletes. “Their commitment and focus to the task at hand is incredible. The sacrifices these people make, the hours they put in to reach their goals is truly inspiring.”
Morgan lives in Tauranga with his wife Kristin and son Jackson.
