Constructed of solid man-made Timbercrete blocks which form 200mm thick walls, and reminiscent of stone houses seen in Europe, they produce high thermal and sound insulation performance. Further impact has been created with high vaulted ceilings and exposed macrocarpa beams, matching macrocarpa & cedar joinery incorporating double-glazing with timber doors. Wool insulation stops heat loss through the roof cavity. The polished concrete floor helps heat the interior during the winter and is cool in summer. Extra heating is provided by a wood-burner in the living area via a wet back, which supplements solar water heating panels.

The two wings of the house are joined by a bold open-plan living space, gorgeous kitchen with many special features, a separate butler's pantry, plus a gallery presently used as a library. Each wing has two double bedrooms, one with an adjoining en suite and an office that could be converted into a further bedroom. The 2 double bedrooms in the other wing share a bathroom.
