'Villa Zeephyr', architecturally designed by Neil Simmons in the early 1970's is something of a Whitford landmark.
With an accent on the unusual, there is an ambiance about this 410m² home that gives it the 'X' factor. It is offered for the first time since its construction in original condition with all its character features intact, including original cabinetry and furniture designed specifically for the house.
The opportunity now arises for you to call the 'Villa Zeephyr' home, for those buyers who are looking for that special home that offers privacy, security and wonderful rural and sea views and is close to all the local amenities.
Enter through the double front doors and fall in love with the clever design features which include the five bedrooms, master with ensuite, formal lounge and dining, original kitchen/family room, study and the conversation pit complete with wood burning fireplace.
Downstairs, there is covered parking for five vehicles, laundry and separate self contained accommodation with it's own entrance, perfect for nanny or visiting guests.
The 21.5239 ha, once part of a dairy farm, is suitable for a variety of livestock including horses, sheep and alpacas but is currently grazing dry stock. Under the rural eight zoning the property may have potential for future development.
Whitford is only thirty five minutes (non rush hour) from Auckland City and twenty five minutes to the Auckland International Airport and fifteen minutes drive to Ardmore Airport for those with private planes. The Whitford Village shops are located only moments away and offer cafes, restaurants, dentist and a dairy. Botany and Howick Shopping Centres along with the Ormiston Hospital and the Botany A & E are a ten minute drive.
For those who commute to the city there is an excellent Ferry Service from the Pine Harbour and Half Moon Bay Marinas as well as services to Waiheke and Rakino Islands.
The wider Whitford area is well known for its recreational opportunities which include its white sand beaches, regional parks and the scenic drives around the Pohutukawa Coast. Access to the Hauraki Gulf for sailing, fishing and boating is on your doorstep with the excellent facilities offered by the Pine Harbour and Half Moon Bay Marinas.
Golf and restaurant facilities can be enjoyed at both the Formosa International Golf Course and the local Whitford Park Golf Club, also on offer are the numerous waterfront recreational trails for pedestrian and equine traffic. Introducing
Wayne Rawson AREINZ Grad.Dip.Bus.Stud (Real Estate)
Rural & Lifestyle Sales
Wayne willingly admits that his life is driven by some major loves. He lists them as his wife and family, sailing and living and selling in Whitford.
It is his passion for Whitford and the surrounding districts, combined also with some solid experience in the real estate and advertising industries that makes him such an effective salesperson for Barfoot & Thompson.
It would be difficult to find a salesperson better qualified than Wayne. After previous roles as a dairy farmer and cartage contractor he came into the real estate industry in 1980. His initial employers were Beltons Real Estate. Wayne enjoyed selling real estate in Howick and the surrounding area but a career in the “fourth estate†beckoned him and he went to work for the New Zealand Herald in their advertising department. Wayne held a variety of positions and for 12 of his 18 years at the Herald was closely involved in real estate advertising.
So successful was he in the role that he became a presenter and tutor in the effective marketing and advertising of real estate. While working through the Real Estate Exam Centre in Milford and Massey University, Albany, he also trained hundreds of sales staff through corporate and office seminars.
Wayne is a past member of the Advertising Institute of New Zealand and is an Associate Fellow of the Institute.
In 1999 after 18 years with the Herald, a new challenge beckoned and Wayne took up a position on the sales team of a local real estate office. Four years earlier he had moved to Whitford after living for many years in Howick. “I moved to Whitford to enjoy peace and quiet of the country.†Wayne says. “I enjoy introducing others to our wonderful area and showing them the benefits of a rural lifestyle.â€
In 2005 Wayne enrolled at Massey University to study for a business diploma, majoring in Real Estate.
2006 saw him qualify as a branch manager and he was voted an Associate of the Real Estate Institute in 2007.
He was thrilled to graduate from Massey in 2008.
Wayne in 2009, after 10 years with his previous agency (many of them award winning) joined the Whitford Barfoot & Thompson team.
Wayne calls on his background in marketing and advertising to ensure his vendors get the very best promotion of their properties. His abilities have given proven success as a top salesperson in the rural lifestyle environment.
