|Whakatane & District|
Bay of Plenty
This property is located alongside the Whakatane River where it meets the sea. The area is called 'The Heads' but the locals call it 'paradise'. Residents don't want to sell up and move on so we seldom have homes to sell in this area.
There is so much to see and do. The elevated site offers a grandstand view of the turbulence of the river meeting the sea, with the ebb and flow of the tides adding to the ever changing view. In the distance is Whale Island, an iconic feature that has similarities to the island Bali Hai in the musical "South Pacific".
If you are into water sports you will be in seventh heaven. Surfing, kayaking, SUP, fishing, diving, swimming, sailing - it's all here. When you wake up in the morning, just lift your head off the pillow to see if surfs up, or what the weather will be.
If you just want to sit back and enjoy the view, then you will never tire of the action. Boats coming and going over the bar, people promenading on the river edge, picnickers enjoying the shade of the pohutukawas.
The home has been rented for many years so is a little tired and is ready for some refurbishment to make it into a home or your holiday bach.
There are 2 bedrooms upstairs and 1 bedroom/study downstairs. Across the front of the house are separate rooms for the kitchen, dining and lounge which all lead out to the very extensive deck of approx 65sqm some of which is undercover. Imagine cooking on the BBQ with a beer in hand taking in the view! Over summer you will spend most evenings chilling out on the deck.
A few hundred yards away is the newly upgraded children's playground with a shallow tidal pool, and next door to this is the boat ramp.
This property is offered for sale by auction on the 19th January 2019 at 2pm on-site (unless sold prior). Open homes will be every Sunday at 1pm, or if you want to view at any other time, call Barney on 027 448 4941.
