Blueberry hub with scope

In the heartland of Waikato's blueberry country, this 3.9736ha (more or less) property is a strategic processing hub for its current operations. Featuring an excellent array of infrastructure, the large packhouse has the scope to function for multitude of options. Currently setup to support and play a pivotal role in the wider blueberry business. It's fitted out with a modern BBC technology colour sorter and packing machines. An attached coolstore is also well-positioned to accommodate the need for storage and transfer of sale produce.

The properties blueberry scrubs cover an approx 1.2 hectare portion of the total land area. Further areas are earmarked for planting and the land is currently being developed for future productivity, allowing excellent growth opportunities. Blueberries thrive on raw peat, a soil that characterises the area, and many surrounding properties are utilised for growing this popular berry fruit. Blueberries of mixed age and variety which are grown in the block provide variable crop yields with the 2019 season resulting in 4,894kg harvested. The vendors have removed areas of blueberry bushes which are currently fallow with a view to replanting with modern varieties later in the year.

A comprehensive plant and machinery package is included in the sale and could be considered independently or when purchasing one or a combination of the wider business units, which are also on the market. See links to other properties below.

Upon completing a degree at Waikato University at the age of 24, I bought my first investment property. This was the beginning of an investment portfolio and a passion for Real Estate. Now I get the opportunity and great pleasure in assisting other people to realise their real estate goals.

Having a teaching background of 11 years helped me develop:
• A wide breadth of networks
• Strong listening skills
• A confident and effective delivery style
• A good understanding of positive teamwork

I loved teaching, particularly the last five years at Cambridge High School. However, in 2005 an opportunity arose to work for a great company. The Bayleys mission statement reads, ‘we are committed to maximising the value of our client’s real estate assets through superior customer service’. After 13 years working with the great Bayleys team I firmly believe in our ability to market quality property and achieve outstanding results.

I have a love for sport, in particular rugby and am affiliated with the Hamilton Old Boys Club. I have now focussed my rugby interest to refereeing and have set high goals in this field. I have travelled extensively throughout the UK and Europe, basing myself in London for three years. Whilst travelling through Spain, I met my wife Shani, we have four beautiful children. We also lived in Japan for two years, where I played rugby whilst experiencing their beautiful culture.

I live with three basic principles; to succeed you must be ‘hardworking, reliable and honest’.

Born and bred in the small Bay of Plenty town of Te Whaiti, Scott grew up on his family’s 1200ha intensive dry stock property. He has lived and breathed farming his entire life.

Head prefect in his final year at Rotorua Boys' High School, Scott went on to study at Lincoln University on a Canterbury rugby scholarship. He graduated with a Diploma in Farm Management and has spent 10 years managing his family’s very diverse and intensive farming operations.

Enterprising by nature, Scott and his wife Vanessa ran the successful tourism business, Jailhouse Farmstay & Shuttles. Developing the business from scratch afforded Scott valuable insight into effective marketing approaches with positive results. He approaches real estate with the same zeal, applying his business acumen and in-depth knowledge of the rural sector to achieve optimum outcomes for his clients.

The father of two young sons is an advocate of campaigning to get the best results. He's aligned himself with Bayleys as he avidly believes the brand is an exceptional one with a huge marketing presence and appeal. Scott revels in the excitement, and loves the cut-and-thrust of transacting mutually satisfying deals. He brings to the formidable Mike Fraser-Jones team the enthusiasm of youth tempered with a lifetime of rural experience, innovation and capacity for hard work.
