John has lived in the northern suburbs, mainly Newlands and Churton Park for over 30 years.
He has a long involvement with real estate, designing systems for offices, developing software and training people throughout New Zealand. He has five grown children, four boys, including Andrew who is now developing his new business as a Real Estate Consultant (Andrew also has a long connection with the northern suburbs and with Harcourts), and daughter Vicky who is a resident at Hohepa.
John was Chair and Treasurer of Newlands Intermediate while his boys were attending the school. He has an extensive involvement with the Hohepa community in the Hawkes Bay (where Vicky lives) and Kapiti including service on the Regional Board and with the family association. He is currently the Hawkes Bay appointee as a Trustee of the Hohepa Foundation.
