When you enter this lovely Crescent you become aware you have encountered a very special environment. It's lower slopes situation with mature vegetation creates a wonderful environment for that "away from it all" feeling only a minutes drive from State Highway 2.
Properties here have larger than average gardens and have been developed in different eras, creating a lifestyle particularly suited for those who enjoy a little individuality.
This home was built in 1950's with quality materials and has all the charm of the era but has been extensively renovated including being regibed and insulation of the walls and ceilings. With large picture windows and 4 sets of French doors the sun streams in from morning until late.
The spacious open plan living/dining/kitchen area has a feature schist surrounded woodburner and doors out to the north and west to facilitate those wonderful outdoor dining occasions. The mature vegetation surrounding this lovely 1000m2 section provides privacy and protection from the prevailing wind,
The kitchen's country style complements this homes relaxed atmosphere but provides modern appliances and plenty of storage.
There is a 2nd living room downstairs which is also large and opens out to the east. The 5th bedroom/hobbies room is also downstairs which also has another set of French doors to the outside and is next to a stylish modern full bathroom perfect for guests or family members not wanting stairs.
Upstairs are 4 more good sized bedrooms, all light and bright with loads of storage. The upstairs bathroom, like the downstairs, is also 'state of the art' with tiles hand painted by Auckland renowned contemporary artist John Papas, a bidet and designer shower and wash stand. No mass produced fittings in the home of these creative people.
And if the above features are not enough 'wait there is more'- nestled in the garden is a 2 bedroom fully lined and insulated sleepout, nicely decorated and with a woodburner for winter warmth. The owners of this super property have loved this street so much they have made it their home for the past 30 years and are now moving into their semi- retirement home next door.
The high decile Belmont and Kelson school's are close by and the bus is at the corner. The Melling bridge into Lower Hutt and the train are just 2 -3 minutes drive down the motorway then another 10 minutes into Wellington. Belmont Regional Park is 2 minutes up the hill and in the other direction is the Hutt River with its swimming holes and walking and cycling track.
Living in Belmont is more of a way of live than just a place to live.
