Designed and built in the 1970s for the present owners, the main living spaces have Mediterranean style terracotta tiled floors that feel deliciously cool in the summer but at the flick of a switch, the under floor heating kicks in for a couple of hours, warming the house through. Backed up by the log burner and wet back, and positioned to capture the sun through most of the day, you are guaranteed to have low heating bills. An imposing timber staircase, wall paneling and lofty ceilings with wooden beams accentuate the feeling of space and when the patio doors are fully open you can double the living area and the line between inside, outside and the beach seems to disappear. Neutral decor and carpets run throughout the remainder of the home accentuating the 'cruisy' feeling that this charming property emanates. With an excellent selection of shops, cafes restaurants and bars close by in Motueka High Street, your visitors will never be stuck for something to do in the evenings or if the weather is inclement. And when the sun shines, three boat clubs and the golf course are but a stroll away. The children are catered for also, for along with a fine selection of schools and kindergartens; the beach, skater park, cycle tracks and cinema are all within walking distance. The present owners have lived here blissfully for several decades, which proves my theory that if you choose right the first time you'll probably never need stress about moving again. If you wish, update the decor as fashion or your mood dictates, however, since everything is clean and tidy you might decide that for the time being you'll just move in and enjoy!
