Maurice commenced selling real estate in 1996, and specialises exclusively in rural property sales. He has built up a large data base of clients and is experienced in all categories, including dairy, lifestyle, horticultural and coastal properties, as well as handling a wide variety of rural subdivisions in the Whakatane District.

Maurice has successfully sold many hundreds of rural properties. Having a lifelong interest in all things rural, he has had a background in rural employment, having worked as a Stock Agent and has also been a Dairy Farmer in a share milking position. Maurice is a Licensed Real Estate Agent. Together with his wife Lee-Anne he lives in the rural district of Awakeri where they run a small dry stock farm.

Maurice has an excellent understanding and knowledge of the local market and has the confidence, ability and experience to successfully promote and sell all types of property. His Rural Marketing Team includes Kevin Richardson and Kirstie Richardson who assist him in taking care of business.

The Butler name is well known in the local area and Doug is one of many. He comes from a farming background and after 13 years working in New Zealand and overseas he is very happy to return to this lifestyle that he knows so well.

His previous working life was varied and exciting – including four years of guiding big game hunters in Canada, UK and Australia, three years of Resource Exploration in the Outback and six years working in the industrial electrical industry throughout NZ and the Pacific.

Having returned to his parent’s farm here in Whakatane, Doug, a farm boy at heart with an appreciation for all things agricultural, is ready to carve a new path as a Rural Real Estate Agent. His youth and energy will add value to the Rural sales team here at Property Brokers Whakatane and the team are excited to have him aboard.
